Here's the chicken run. I'm planning on expanding it in the spring to make room for more hens.
$25 Heated Water Supply
As if feeding the chickens isn't challenging enough, keeping their water supply from freezing in the winter seems an impossible task.
The saying goes, "necessity is the mother of invention". How true it is. I NEEDED a heated water supply so I looked in the only logical place for cheap do-it-yourself INVENTIONS ... YouTube. I borrowed some ideas and used what I had.
Currently I'm using a 60 watt bulb. I may reduce that to a 40 watt bulb. I think with the waterer being in the house and the running heat lamp, 40 watts will be enough. We'll see.
